Quigley Class of '61 Renunion
After a semester
at Niles, I attended DePaul and earned a BS in Philosopy, but more
importantly, met my wife, Joyce. Married in ’66, we have 4 children
and 7 grandchildren.
Most of my
career was spent in the IT area (midrange computer systems) –
programmer, manager, but essentially Business Systems Analyst. After
32 years, I realized I wasn’t interested in relearning PCs,
networks, etc. so I “retired” to the Oak Park Regional Housing
Center, where I served as a counselor, involved in maintaining
racial diversity in Oak Park.
I served on
several Boards of Directors, usually as Treasurer, and now volunteer
in several capacities, including the OPRHC, Eucharistic Minister at
West Suburban Hospital, giving tours at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home
and Studio, Ernest Hemingway’s Birth Home.
Most of my time
is spent at Ascension where I was a member of the first Parish
Council, a spiritual director for many years for the Christ Renews
His Parish program. I’m currently a Eucharistic minister, lector
(trained many lectors) and sing in the Schola (librarian!)
I still play the guitar for a weekly gathering of a small
faith group, and still have my accordion!!! (Got me a minor and a
major letter!!!)
